In this class we'll strengthen and stretch particular areas of the body in safe and intelligent ways that help us to find more space in the present moment and throughout our lives. This class is intended to challenge every student while also offering support through modifications, and hands-on adjustments. All experience levels are welcome.
Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini yoga is a dynamic blend of postures, conscious breathing, mantra, music and meditation, which can bring you relaxation, self-healing and elevation. It will balance body and mind, which will enable you to experience the clarity and beauty of your soul. No previous experience in yoga is required for you to achieve results with your very first experience!
Slow Flow
This class begins with simple breathing practices to set a slower pace and calm the body and mind. Themes taken from the Eight Limbs of Yoga are often used to bring interest and depth to the session. Next comes a warm-up of the body with gentle movements of the spine and limbs. The apex of the class is a simple vinyasa flow that reflects the calm pace of our breath. We wind down to savasana on our backs with a variety of movements, stretching, strengthening and restoring ourselves.
Chair Yoga
In this class we use a chair to facilitate our yoga practice, which includes yogic principles, breathing practices, various postures and meditation to provide a well rounded session. We will do some postures sitting in the chair, some standing next to or behind the chair, and we will use the chair to help us get down to and up from the floor. Balance, flexibility and strength will all be improved in this gentle practice.
Yoga Foundations
Yoga Foundations focuses on reducing stress and connecting the mind, body and spirit through gentle and basic stretches with simple breathing exercises and relaxation techniques. The class is designed for those new to Yoga, becoming comfortable with Yoga or needing time and space to practice Yoga.
Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep is a guided deep relaxation with the sound of gongs, bowls, drums, chimes, rain stick and other musical instruments. In Shavasana or corpse pose, no movement will be involved so it’s available for all levels. In a society that is so focused on doing, slowing down to reset the nervous system and allow hearing is essential for healing. The parasympathetic nervous system is ruled by sound, and one of the most powerful ways to regulate is through the use of Gongs and other powerfully therapeutic sound instruments.
